In this Master Class I will offer a review of my cinematografic work from 1970 to the present, which includes a total of more than 30 films, among them, two feature-length fiction films (“Pura Sangre,” “Soplo de vida”), various short fiction films (“Agarrando pueblo”, “Asunción”, “Capítulo 66”) and non-fiction works (“Oiga vea”, Cali: de película”, “En busca de ‘María’”), as well as 7 feature-length documentaries (“La desazón suprema”, “Un tigre de papel”, “Todo comenzó por el fin,” among them). At the same time, I will analyze the appropriation of found footage in my work in which I remount, remix and distort family and home movies, television news and newsreels, public service announcements, propaganda films and materials from the public domain to generate an audiovisual work similar to collage.
